There are several ways to get around Nantucket if you chose not to bring a vehicle. Use the Shuttle (Nantucket Regional Transit Authority (NRTA)) for shopping, going to the beach, to enjoy an evening out, to go fishing, get an ice cream and a walk along the docks, to visit friends, or to commute to work.
Nantucket offers multiple walking and bike paths across the island, and many vistors enjoy renting a bike from Young's Bicycle Shop & 4x4 Car Rental or Easy Rider's to take in the beautiful sights.
For those needing a vehicle, there are several car rentals to choose from. Nantucket Island Rent a Car, Young's Bicycle Shop & 4x4 Car Rental, and Windmill Auto Rental (at the airport) all offer many car choices as well as 4x4 SUV rentals. A handful of Nantucket beaches are accessible by 4x4's with the proper beach stickers, which all rented SUV's have. If you just need a vehicle to get around the island, both Budget Auto Rental and Hertz Auto Rental offer rental cars and SUV's as well.
