Bike Paths
Bikes are popular on Nantucket, and for good reason: it’s one of the easiest ways to get around the island. Well maintained paths can get you just about anywhere you want to go, including to most of the popular beaches. With over 24 miles of trails, this is a great way to see the landscape up close and personal.

Fishing
Whether you want to hook into striped bass, bluefish, bonito, or false albacore, the waters around Nantucket are teaming with fish. Shark, marlin and tuna can also be found out in the deeper water off shore. Such a diverse variety of species is sure to please fishermen of all ability levels, from the seasoned veteran, to the first timer.

Museums
There are several museums and places of interest that you don’t want to miss while visiting Nantucket. The Hinchman House Natural Science Museum showcases a collection of island reptiles, flowers and plants. The Maria Mitchell Aquarium features fresh and salt water marine life, and is a great place for kids! The Whaling Museum offers an interesting look into the history of whaling in the Nantucket area. The Maria Mitchell Observatory offers astronomy classes for kids, as well as public viewing nights on Fridays and Saturdays.
Whale Watching
Take a whale watching tour to get an up-close look at these amazing creatures. July to September is the prime season for viewing in the Great South Channel off the coast of Nantucket.
